Abstract
AI, as an umbrella term, is becoming increasingly important in education. School principals are confronted with a mess of tools promising to ease their work. But how are they using AI technologies? What do they expect from professional development on the topic? Insights from a study with almost 1000 participants show a diverse picture of how AI is integrated into the school system. Furthermore, CS teachers must address the topic as it is increasingly integrated into more curricula. AI education, as it currently stands, mostly focuses on artifacts and their technological underpinnings. But the impact AI has on education in particular and society in general is often underrepresented. The talk provides insights into AI education from a broader context regarding the subject, teaching material, and AI as a tool, all under the question of whether the emperor wears clothes or is naked.
